Description: I have to clear some space on my shelves, so I need to part with some of my collection. The F-4 Phantom II is iconic of the Vietnam War, although its service life continued for decades after that conflict. It is natural that Academy would release a large-scale Phantom as a Vietnam War gunslinger. I have heard that the plastic in this kit is not new, but is from Revell molds going back to the 1990s. The instructions certainly match up well with the 1994 RF-4E kit from Revell. In any event, you get a great big Phantom to cover in SEA camouflage and it doesn’t get better than that. I found dozens of listings for this kit on eBay (mostly from distant overseas sellers) but as a Top Rated Plus US Seller I can reliably ship this to you very quickly. Here is some information from the internet: I was surprised to find that the Academy website (academy.co.kr) does not have a page for this kit. In fact, none of their newer (after 2020) kits show up there. From other sources, I have found the following information about this remarkable kit: This is Academy's 1/32 scale model kit of the F-4E, the premier version of the Phantom II used in the Vietnam War. This most advanced model of the Phantom II, as used by the U.S. Air Force, was produced to replace the F-4C/D. This high-performance aircraft had an extended nose with a compact Westinghouse AN/APQ-120 radar system added. The nose of this highly effective aircraft was also fitted with a 20 mm M61A1 6-barrel Vulcan cannon with a 640-round ammunition drum capable of firing 4000-6000 rounds a minute. The fuselage of the model is 61.0 cm long and 15.5 cm tall. The cockpit and instrument panels are accurately detailed. Seven finishing options are included. Suited for advanced-level modelers. · Highly detailed interior and cockpit, landing gear and compartment and antennas and Target Identification System Electro-Optical (TISEO)· Includes PE and transparent parts, arsenal of Air-to-Air weapons· Optional weighted tires· Seven finishing options: USAF, ROKAF and JASDF· Detailed manual Scalemates.com shows that this is a 2021 release based on an unspecified tooling (many suspect it is a Revell tooling). There is a link to download the complete, full-color 22-page instruction set and painting guide. They also provide many links to aftermarket parts and references for everything Phantom. Hearns Hobbies delivered a lengthy (over 16 minutes) Unboxing Video on YouTube that starts with a history of the Phantom. Next, it is the instructions with particular attention paid to the colorful painting guides. Then it is on to the large fuselage and wing parts. The cockpit parts and weapons sprues are studied in detail before the clear parts are displayed. The decal sheet is immense to cover seven different versions. I enjoyed the presenter’s enthusiasm over this kit. Hobbies Australia produced a shorter (under 12 minutes) Unboxing Video on YouTube that also starts with a review of the instructions. He shows off the colorful decal sheet, as well as some “Remove Before Flight” flags and the turned metal parts. We get a very close look at the detail on the fuselage and wing parts, along with the internal detail parts. He claims that Academy has done some cleanup and improvements on the molds. The clear parts finish out the review before wrapping up and recommending this excellent kit. This kit is in a huge, beautiful box about 22” x 15” x 5”. As you can see from the pictures, the box is pristine and is still sealed with tape strips, so I consider it factory sealed and absolutely gift-ready. This item contains one complete injection molded plastic model kit with about 300 grey and clear plastic parts, metal parts, and an enormous set of decals. It requires cement and paint to complete as shown. I use eBay Managed Payments, but I no longer ship internationally. Auction winner pays winning bid plus, for a limited time, I am offering this massive kit with $14 Flat Rate Shipping in the US! No reserve and a low starting bid. Check out my other great auctions for combined shipping. Good luck! Those familiar with my listings can tell that I really enjoy these products and the modeling hobby. I like to provide more than just the bare facts about the items, trying to lead you into discovering more about the subjects and optimizing your builds (if that is your goal). I started out picking up models that I was interested in, with the eye toward building them when I had time. Always a bargain-hunter, I accumulated many more than I can build, so I found myself in a Collector status (sounds nicer than a hoarder). As I am sure you have noticed, my items are almost always sealed and in mint condition (I call them Gift-Ready), since I only open them when I am ready to build them. Now I enjoy making these products available to my fellow modelers; both Builders and Collectors. For the Builders, there are probably better (at least cheaper) ways to add to your project lists than buying from me, but you know you are getting top quality. For Collectors, my goal is to save you a few bucks over the competition for the same item in factory sealed and collectible (or resellable) condition.
