A charming children's educational aid published in the earliest days of the American Republic; containing a reference guide for the alphabet, punctuation, syllabary, etc. Its primary focus is early religious training and includes standard prayers then in use at the Academy of the Protestant Episcopal Church in Philadelphia. Blank spaces were left for the words "King" and "Him" on page 6, "and the teacher instructed to fill them with forms of expression suitable to a republican government." Extremely rare. First and last leaves are uncut, with the lack of circulation accounting for its survival.
