1793 S-6 Wreath Large Cent Vine & Bars Edge PCGS EF XF Details 1C Glossy Brown

Description: Welcome to Earlycoppercoins! I am the owner, Shawn A. Yancey, and I am a member of ANA and Early American Coppers, EAC #4647. I am pleased to offer the following item: 1793 S-6 Wreath Large Cent, Vine and Bars Edge, R3. Authenticated and graded by PCGS as XF Details Repaired. Definitely a "DARN" coin because this one faces up as a rich dark chocolate EF40+ with bold details, excellent color and eye appeal, and just a very pleasing "look." I am not sure where the "repair" is, so I will call out the defects that I can see. Starting on the obverse, I spot some apparent tooling behind the top of the hair; additional tooling at the neckline, and some crisscrossing scratches, some of which appear to have been smoothed especially at the center southwest of the ear. The reverse also has some crisscrossing light hairlines, plus some moved metal beneath the C in CENT. All of that being said, this coin would be twice the price if it were problem-free, so as offered here, it would make a GREAT candidate for an album coin or for somebody that wants a boldly defined Wreath Cent and can forgive the plethora of minor defects. I do NOT spot this coin in the Numistudy condition census but looking at the S-6's recorded there, this coin should be at least net VF25+.
