All plates and one folding map present (collated) -- although some plates out of order and/or mislabeled. 58 in all, two folding illustrations. Includes sections and plates on reptiles, insects, plants and paleontology. The book was originally issued with a separate volume that had two folding maps in it, but this companion volume is no longer present. Hardcover, debossed detailing on the front, filt titles on the spine. 487 pages. Overall, good condition, light wear to cover, splits to cover cloth at spine, light fading to cover at bottom left, some light foxing of illustrations, mostly around edges and on folds of folding illustrations. Firmly bound. Unusual to find all the plates present.
