Description: An iconic crown of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, struck to commemorate the silver wedding of Emperor Franz Joseph and Empress Elizabeth of Bavaria (aka Sisi). This is not typically a rare coin, but usually seen in XF to BU level, rarely in Gem. This is definitely among the finest examples we’ve ever seen. It has been in a collection since 2017. This coin looks much more lustrous in hands, the surfaces are extraordinarily watery and smooth. Some faint marks noticeable on reverse, preventing the coin to be graded higher. It stands out easily from the other MS-65 examples we’ve seen before, and will be extremely difficult to find any finer. Pop 11, only 2 graded finer in MS-66 at NGC.
