There are 200 pages, which include numerous illustrations helpful for the experienced or novice gardener. The dimensions: 8-1/2" x 5-3/4" x 3/8" (21.3 cm x 14.5 cm x 1 cm). The author explains in the preface that his aim is to "treat the whole field of garden work so exhaustively that "hereafter I shall be able, as an answer to at least the great majority of questions that may come up, to refer the inquirer to some page in "The Garden Book." This book contains twelve chapters … one for each month. He calls it "A year's work in the garden." From browsing seed catalogs, and cultivating via a green house in Winter, to outdoor work in Spring, to cooking fresh vegetables and planting late blooming vegetables in Summer, to canning, pickling and preparing the greenhouse in Fall, to storing vegetables for winter and saving seeds for the next season again in Winter.This wonderful and unique book is in good condition. The covers are whole and complete with only minor wear. There is quite a bit of wear to the spine, but the binding is sound, and the interior pages are pristine, clean and unmarked.
