Granstrem Publishing House - was founded in 1881 in St. Petersburg by Eduard Andreevich Granstrom with the participation of his wife and daughter (MD and EE Granstrem). At the end of the XIX century, he was a well-known translator (translated tales of Professor Z. Topelius). Wide popularity in Russia was acquired by the book of Granstrem "A century of discoveries in the biographies of remarkable seafarers and conquerors of the 15th-16th centuries." (1893), which Veniamin Kaverin in the novel "Two Captains" called excellent. According to Kaverin, this book was written with sincere enthusiasm for the great people. Popular was the publication "Along the polar margins of Russia" (1885). And, of course, E. Granstrem's work on the poetic translation of Kalevala after the recognition of L.
