Description: 1928 Solid Silver Photograph Frame With Solid Wood Easel Style Kick Stand - Free Standing. Full English Sterling Silver Hallmarks for Henry Matthews, Birmingham, England. 1928. Good quality silver mounted oak frame with arched top and decorative detailed edges. The silver is riveted onto the wood back, we do not make items like this anymore. Made by the sought after and renowned silver makers Henry Matthews, their quality really does shine through. Glazed to the front. In good almost antique/antique condition. There are several minor bruises and blemishes, mostly to the edges of the silver two minor ones to the front on either side of the frame, it looks as though whatever it was that hit the frame mede both the marks. This would be considered less than commensurate with age and use. No nasty, splits tears or repairs. This frame has been through WW2 and survived, I imagine it has seen much. Wonderful character. Measurements approximately: Height: 15.5cm x 10cm (6.1/8” x 4”) Photograph size: 13.3cm x 8.5cm (5.1/4” x 3.1/4”)This piece is already in circulation meaning no new silver has been used.
