Description: This authentic Japanese Mashiko-Yaki teapot from the 1950s showcases a ribbed white clay ceramic design with a unique rattan handle for a touch of rustic charm. The teapot is handmade and comes with an ownership history available for provenance. It was crafted in Japan with care and attention to detail, perfect for collectors or tea enthusiasts alike. The teapot is a beautiful addition to any collection and a great conversation piece. This teapot was used by my grandparents as they lived and worked in post-war Japan (1950’s) and came home with them on ship in the late 1950’s early 1960’s. There are no chips on this piece and measures 5.5 IN (height) and 8 IN (width). It does have tea stain on the inside of the teapot and lid from actual use. The almost 70 years of patina and dust will remain for the buyer’s personal/professional decision on method of cleaning. Please review the photos in detail as these serve as part of the item’s description. Thank you for looking at this lovely and historical teapot!
