Description: Handsome fold-out map brochure on historic Fredericksburg, published by the Sylvania Division of the American Viscose Corporation, more than 70 years ago. The cover artwork features portraits of George Washington and Robert E. Lee, and the map locates two dozen sites of historic interest between the Rappahannock River and College Avenue, including the Slave Block, Kenmore, Ferry Farm, and Rising Sun Tavern. This brochure opens to 17¼" x 12" and was published by Sylvania circa 1952. The back panel includes an aerial photo of Sylvania's vast cellophane manufacturing plant. The plant closed in 1978, but when this brochure was printed it was the area's largest employer. Today the site is occupied by the A. Smith Bowman Distillery. Condition: This map brochure is in excellent condition, bright and clean, with no marks, rips, or tears. Please see the scans and feel free to ask any questions. Buy with confidence!
