Village — Introduced in 1976 (the year of America's bicentennial), Pfaltzgraff Village features a charming Early American-style design rendered in dark brown against a light brown background. The warm earth tones of the 1970's brought this interpretation of the early Pfaltzgraff platters. It has a classic Early American look that has remained popular for many years, and continues as a strong decorating style today. An American tradition since 1811, Pfaltzgraff traces its roots to George "Falsgraff" who founded a pottery in early 19th Century York, PA. The pottery name was variously spelled as Faltzgraf, Palzgrof, and even Voltzgraff to name just a few examples. Yet no matter how "Pfaltzgraff" was spelled (or pronounced), for the last 200 years it has meant quality, durability, and beauty. However, Pfaltzgraff dishes are not made at the Pennsylvania factory anymore. They are now made in China and the quality and craftsmanship of the venerable York, PA factory did not transfer to the Chinese factory. By October 2005, Lifetime Brands closed the Pfaltzgraff factory in Thomasville (York), PA, and transferred all manufacturing to China and Thailand. 1970’s Pfaltzgraff Large 14" Oval Serving Platter Village Pattern Made in USA Stoneware Modern Farmhouse Retro Country Shabby Chic Cottage Boho Home & Living Kitchen & Dining Dining & Serving Trays & Platters Platters , Vintage Tableware , Serving Dish Vintage , Pfaltzgraff 40 , Phaltzgraph Village , Pfaltzgraff 616 , Pfaltzgraff Village , Turkey Platter , shabby chic , pfaltzgraff retired , farmhouse , retro, mcm ,
