Description: THE RASPBERRY EXERCISES: HOW TO START YOUR OWN SCHOOL ...AND MAKE A BOOK By Salli Raspberry, Robert Greenway, Max Efroym & Others 1971 4th Printing, May, 1971 Freestone Publishing Company Freestone (Sebastopol), California Trade Paperback, 125 pages A book on starting an alternative school, and all the structure and ideas that go with it. Filled with insight and a generous helping of left-wing politics, this book undoubtedly appealed to hippies, socialists, commune residents and people aligned with counterculture in general, especially the "back to the garden" people. Author Salli Raspberry (1940-2019), whose surname appears prominently as the cover title of the book, was a 1960s San Francisco counterculture trailblazer who migrated north to become a guiding light in west Sonoma County back-to-the-earth, literary, art, gardening and conservation circles. She was known by many as the Original Hippie of Sonoma County. This book is somewhat scarce now, and also contains a separate letter from Raspberry and Greenway (dated 1971) with an order form on the rear side. The book has some wear but is complete and intact and in good condition with a name/date written on the half-title page. My scanner makes the book's front cover appear much brighter than it really is. The scan of the rear cover is more accurate. 8 1/2" x 11" x 3/8"
