The Apollo-Soyuz Test Project (ASTP) was conducted in July 1975. It was the first joint US & Soviet space flight. It involved the docking of an Apollo Command/Service Module with the Soviet Soyuz 19. The unnumbered Apollo vehicle was a surplus from the terminated Apollo program and the last one to fly. The US crew was, Commander, Thomas P. Stafford, Command Module Pilot, Vance D. Brand, Docking Module Pilot, Donald K. Slayton. The Soviet crew was, Commander Alexey Leonov, and Flight Engineer, Valeri Kubasov. The matting is signed by all 5 astronauts/cosmonauts from the 1975 mission. Overall, the photograph is in Fair condition. There is some staining and a few scratches. The mat is stained and has some nicks and creases. On the back, a previous owner has taped 2 newspaper articles - an article from the June 1993 Washington Times about the death of Deke Slayton and an article from July 18, 1985 Washington Post about the Rendezvous Reunion from the remaining astronauts.
