Description: Mitchell 400 high speed spinning reel, manufactured in France in 1974, serial number C235546 stamped on the foot. Comes in black and red clam shell box with yellow tray, sleeve and an extra spool in Mitchell container and manuals. Mitchell 400 engraved in large lettering on cover plate and Garcia foil sticker Bail with roller line guide Handle with High Speed foil sticker Left hand wind Two spools, large and small capacity with stickers Paperwork This reel has been used, with rubbing on the edges of the housing, the rotor and the foot where it attaches to the rod (see pictures). The reel is fully functioning with a smooth retrieve and working anti-reverse. The bail spring is strong and flips over with a loud click. The box is solid, with no cracks. The yellow tray is in one piece (see pictures). The hard to find card sleeve has been repaired and has seen better days. The extra spool is in a clean Mitchell plastic container with no cracks. Both spools have Garcia Royal Bonnyl stickers on the bottom. This is a very good condition, fully functioning, 50 year old reel, to fish with or add to a collection.
