Description: This is a great pair of Fritz Hansen 'Swan' chairs designed by Arne Jacobsen for the Royal SAS Hotel in Copenhagen. Original upholstery by Alexander Girard a wool 'Superweave' in red and hints of pink and purple. The fabric is in good vintage condition, however the foam has areas of stiffness specifically on the edge of the arms. One chair has two small snags, slighlty visible in person. Stamped 1968 Alexander Girard designed this textile during his tenure as founding director of the Herman Miller Textile Division (1952 to 1973).
