Description: Penn Antique Restoration Penn Antique Restoration 36"x84"x1.75" Antique Exterior Entry Door W/1 Window & 1 Panel Grand, antique, exterior door salvaged from an old,1880's, Victorian home in the historic Hills section of Scranton, PA. The door is made of solid Douglas fir or pine, and is stained on both sides. Today, "pine" is known as a cheap, weak, soft wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees doesn't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old has. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine. The door has a single window without any glass and 1, recessed (flat) panel below the window on both sides. Would you like us to replace the missing glass?--Message us for a quote Hardware: The original owner cut the width of the door, and in the process, cutting off the hardware holes. On the bright side, this allows you to install whatever you'd like on the door. Quirks & Considerations: The door is missing all of its molding on the interior side ONLY. This is not a big issue as we can replace the molding and add new glass to fill the window on the door--message us for a quote. Condition: Considering the door is over 100 years old, it's strong, sturdy and in great structural condition. It only has nicks and scratches, but no broken or cracked joints, gouges or any other serious issues. The worst damage is a small break on the bottom piece of exterior molding (see last photo). Most of the blemishes that it has will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever remains will be subtle, "character marks". Swing: The hinge mortises span the thickness of the door, allowing you to define its swing and install your hinges on either side. Modification: We could also modify this door to fit your opening or suite your needs.
