Description: (40) VW Bug or Beetle “Tins” Bolts or Screws 1949 to 1978 Socket Button Head No Rust Stainless Steel If you are rebuilding a classic bug flat four engine you will probably want to install new bolts that hold the sheet metal to the engine. You could buy a set of old style slot head machine screws and have it look original. However, the zinc plating will soon be gone and you will be left with rust. Chrome fasteners are a beautiful option, but that plating peels, chips and blisters in a few years and you will again have rust. If you buy a set of our stainless steel bolts, the components of our VW “tins” kit are made of grade 18-8 stainless steel (18% chromium & 8% nickel) to prevent rust forever. This is a simple, easy and inexpensive up-grade for your VW engine. The heads on our machine screws (bolts) are the very good looking and modern socket button style. We feel that these bolts give your engine a classy, modern look. Forty stainless steel flat washers are included in the kit to help secure the sheet metal. These bolts do NOT have polished heads. We did this to keep the price down. However, they will shine up easily with a rag and some “Blue Magic” polish. Also, a few seconds on a buffing wheel with some compound and they will have a mirror finish. Here is what is included in the VW Bug Tins bolt kit: 1.) 40 socket button head stainless steel bolt M6 x 12mm 2.) 40 rubber backed stainless steel flat washer 6mm One payment of $25.00 buys 40 bolts, and 40 washers … USPS First Class shipping with Tracking is $4.75 One payment of $4.50 buys 20 bolts and 20 washers0 … USPS First Class shipping with Tracking is $4.36 TOTAL or 1, 2, 3 or more packs.
