This classic example of post WWII Swiss horology is from my personal collection of vintage and antique clocks curated since the early 1970s. Time has come for these old world gems of meticulous craftsmanship to reach appreciative new hands. The Concord brand was synonymous with quality watches and small clocks. This 1950s design with folding ring stand is immediately recognizable by collectors - sold by the best jewelers including Cartier and Tiffany & Co. Originally furnished with a leather pouch for travel. Crisp satin silvered dial with bold Arabic numbers inside the chapter ring and luminescent blued steel hands are easily read at a distance. Pocket watch style winding and setting via oversize crown. Premier grade 8-day 15-jewel movement with bimetallic balance and beautifully finished plates mounts in a precisely machined polished solid brass case retaining original lacquer. NOTE: The clock is in running order. However, to perform reliably for eight days and hold accurate time, it should be overhauled. Asking price includes complete disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning/ rinsing in waterless solutions, and lubrication with high-grade Swiss oils. Restoration will provide reliable operation for several years. Labor and material cost for professional overhaul of comparable Swiss clocks averages $375.
