Description: Here is a one-of-a-kind collection that we just found! There are seven sweet vintage Catholic holy cards that depict the birth of Baby Jesus . Each one is a unique beauty! Four of these holy cards are postcard size, measuring 5 5/8"H x 3 5/8"W. They have coloring in soft hues of grey, lavender, rose, blue, green, brown and white with a gold leaf halo around the heads of Mary and Jesus. They are blank on the reverse side, and are printed on nice ivory paper. Please note these are not made of cardstock as we usually see holy cards printed on. They would be best framed or preserved with laminate or vinyl. The other three are standard size, with one having the same soft coloring. The last two have deep, rich coloring. All have lovely detailing and expressive faces so common to Fratelli Bonella artistry. Printed in Italy with the early Fratelli Bonella copyright. Serial Numbers. No date given, but these holy cards were very popular in the 1940's - 1950's. Very good vintage condition. They have been preserved well with no markings, very little signs of age or use. One of the smaller holy cards has a typewritten prayer and name. Two still have bright gold-leaf edging! Simply, simply beautiful!!
