Description: 8 Healthy bare root pineapple strawberry plants. Hardy to northern winters, zones 4-10. Taste like they are a cross between a pineapple and a strawberry. (but they aren't). Perhaps the tastiest strawberry you will ever eat. You will find yourself checking each day to scarf any newly ripened berries. This type of strawberry plant grows small runners, smaller than most other strawberry plants, but will mature into rather large plants. Please don't be alarmed by the small size of the runners you will receive. They will grow into large plants, guaranteed. Very easy to grow. Needs moderate to bright sunlight, medium amounts of water and fertilizer. We use organic soybean meal with a bit of lime and sulfur. A boost of phosphorous will promote flowering. Great for either pots or garden growing. Berries tend to be medium sized, but quite prolific. These plants are rooted runners from the mother plant, so it is guaranteed what you will have. The root structures will vary from just starting to fully developed. Please see the picture above for an accurate sample of what your plants will look like. Once your plants begin to grow, cut the runners for increased berry production, or let the runners grow for propagation. Plant them away from other strawberry plants because these strawberries are white with a bit of red blush when ripe. Other strawberries are not ripe at that color stage. They will be hard to tell them apart if mixed. If you do mix the plants with other strawberry plants, you can tell these plants apart from most other strawberry plants by the design in the flower. Pineapple strawberry flowers will have a green star mixed in the white petal flower, separating the petals. These plants are picked on the day they are shipped. They are healthy and vibrant.
