Description: This lot includes a total of 80 of the America's First Medals that are pictured (there are a total of 4 complete sets - 11 coins per set, plus the other 36 medals that are duplicates) - selling for around $2 each. These were sold by the US Mint in the 1970's and are made from Pewter. They commemorate the American Revolution and are actually based upon medals originally voted by the Continental Congress that took place at the White House. Those (original) medals, originally struck in gold and silver, were awarded in recognition of the bold commanders and successful Revolutionary War battles that won for a new nation its freedom from foreign domination. These are all uncirculated and really beautiful and you will see that most of the medals may have rim nicks, bag marks or small scratches - in my opinion, they are all beautiful medals. They are priced at a great price - around $2 each! If you have any questions, please email. Negotiations or offers are welcome. Shipping is $7 within the United States and will ship via USPS Ground Advantage (formerly called First Class Mail). Outside of the United States shipping is paid by the client. I use eBay International Shipping, and the rates are calculated based on your location.
