Description: Preface It is known that Islam became a shining light to the world since it came into existence 15 centuries ago, thus being ever since, without ceasing, and thus going to be, until the end of time. The Proclamation by Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) of his Mission enlightened the entire world and changed the course of history from then on. The Muslim faith, by the revelation of the Holy Quran and proclamation of Muhammad as the Prophet of Islam, made the world and its system change radically, consider the Holy Quran as the last Divine Book revealed by Allah the Greatest and Muhammad as the Last Messenger in the long chain of Allah’s prophets and messengers, as a mercy to all the worlds and the best example among all creatures, in Earth and the skies. Islam entirely changed the life of the heathen Arabs and Bedouins, above all their brutal tribal way of living, taking them, and after them, all humanity, from dark to light. Also, same Islam raised the human being to the highest degree to be respected as a human being, erasing all differences between an Arab and a non-Arab, white or black, by putting the devotion to our Creator as the only condition for a human being to be raised in degrees. Islam enlightened the world from East to West while different countries and people began to profess this faith as a schedule for their everyday life, correctly understanding the harmony between being divine and human, between soul and mind, between matter and metaphysics. It was its divine foundations that made Islam the perfect religion and the perfect divine system revealed to all humanity; also, it was the same divine foundation that made it widespread rapidly and being accepted willingly by most parts of the world, including great kingdoms and empires of that time, such as Byzantine Empire and Persian Empire. It was the pure and the real Islam of the Prophet’s Muhammad era to bring the smile and genuine happiness from the Divine Light to many people worldwide, including the Albanian Muslims during the centuries. However, can the same Islam bring happiness, civilization, abundance, bliss, grace, peace, tranquility, as it did before? Also, can Albanian Muslims still feel happy with Islam as the best life system in this world? We know well that we need to distinguish between Islam and Muslims. Islam is the highest degree of the multiple achievements of humanity in terms of culture, science, and civilization. However, are Muslims worldwide today, including Albanian Muslims, making genuine and honest efforts to follow the Holy Quran teachings and the example of Prophet Muhammed (pbuh)? Should the Albanian Muslims necessarily have to be that backward in many respects like they do nowadays, as it is known that many of those who pray, fast, do not understand why they are performing these rituals, do not even know why they are Muslims? Even worse, they do not know and do not understand Islam’s natural and primary goal and do not know and do not understand the primary purpose of complying with the Islamic way of living. Should the Albanian Muslims, scattered all over their torn lands in the Balkans, in the heart of Europe, yet be divided into so many different subgroups, sects, societies, thoughts, and practices? Or better, do we need to rethink our unification for a higher goal to follow Islam as divine law in our Albanian lands? Almost a century ago, a great and a versatile Albanian scholar, an erudite, like Hafiz Ali Korça, began writing a book entitled “Shtatë ëndrrat e Shqipërisë” (Seven dreams of Albania), as a booklet and a guideline for Albanian Muslims during his lifetime, on the one hand, teaching them to build their faith in God and, on the other, giving them insights about politics, economics. Thus, based on the views of Hafiz Ali Korça in the book above-mentioned, the author of this booklet took the initiative to write it, so make it worthwhile for the Albanian Muslims nowadays, also taking into consideration the variety of issues among Albanian Muslims since 1990, year which marked the end of the dictatorial and antihuman communist era in Albania. Hafiz Ali Korça began his book with some advice to the Albanian Muslims, including how to keep up with their Muslim faith and patriotism and be prosperous, thus having a blessed and blameless life, where faith in God the One prevails. The writing of this booklet was also based on those principles. The booklet is divided into many chapters, focusing on the shortcomings and where and how we, as Muslim Albanians, can do our best to contribute today as a must to have a brotherly relationship, understanding, cooperation, kindness, prosperity, and blessings, all together, and not only some specific groups, who think only about their own interests, or their family members and friends who follows them. Being not a cleric myself (not an Imam, neither a religious teacher nor Shaykh), I feel responsible before God and before people that no word written here represents any person above-mentioned, because otherwise, it would have been an enormous burden to me. For that reason, everything written in these pages is by me as an orientalist and a decent Muslim, in seeking the best for my brothers and sisters in faith and my compatriots, sharing the same feelings with many other Albanian Muslims for the situation in which we reduced ourselves; thus every criticism raised in this booklet should not be taken as an offense. On the contrary, it should be taken as advice and urge to self-criticism to help understand the core of Islam and the situation of Albanian Muslims while giving some insights into how to improve our situation. Thanks to Him, Allah has not allowed Islam to be spread only by Muslim clerics. Every contribution by any good Albanian who has learned Islamic teachings in the right light and wants to spread them for the good of Muslims and the good of Albanian people, in general, is welcomed.
