Description: Rare Antique 1893 COALPORT England 10.5" Porcelain Dinner Plate for TIFFANY NEW YORK. The plate shows a green Coalport England mark which was used by Coalport in 1891. Below it you find hard to read "TIFFANY NEW YORK'. The Coalport porcelain manufactory was founded in 1795. In 1890s an extensive export trade to the U.S. was initiated and the plates here seem to be from that time. Tiffany was founded in New York City in 1837. You also find a hand painted 2 different numbers and one incised 4 digit number on on the plates back. This very elegant and gold encrusted plate has a white center framed with a filigree gold border ring and a wide dark red band decorated with gold swirls, dots and candlestick like motifs. The red band ends with a gold encrusted border at the center ring. The item is in fine antique, used condition. There are no chips, no crazing visible.
