Description: Satsuma Jar hand painted Japan representing Samurai and Japanese homes and trees. The lid has a pointed gold ball on top. The dots painted onto the jar are raised. Pretty cream and gold, and maroon colors. Very intricate jar. Lid is hand painted and intricate as well. Maker is painted on the bottom, but some has been rubbed off so it is difficult to identify the maker. This is 15 inches tall and about 8 inches wide. Excellent condition! No chips or cracks. Has a slight crackling. Urn shaped and hand made. Gorgeous piece! Satsuma jars became popular in the early 1900s after being introduced at the Paris World/s Fair.
