Antique French Bronze Chandelier. Heavy, French, Gold Bronze 5 Arm Ceiling Light

Description: This gorgeous, French bronze chandelier is elegant and ornate and will add a touch of "Rococo/Baroque" style to any period home.In excellent vintage condition, the bronze has signs of natural tarnishing and its patina is darker in some areas than others, giving the look and feel of stylish early 19th century "French Empire" interiors. This one is not super shiny, it has a dark lustre, of "by-gone" times, "faded glory."Sumptuously ornate, it has five fixed arms with sockets for candle-shaped, screw fitting bulbs. Each branch terminates in a decorated bronze drip tray, with the original imitation "dripping" candle covers that slide on and off of the stems easily. The candle drips are the original cream plastic, they have signs of aging (slight flakiness and nibbles around the tops - see photos) but this simply adds to the charm and authenticity of the piece.This light is fully wired and is in full working order.*Please note that the light bulbs are for display only and will not be dispatched with the light due to the various voltages used around the world.This light fixes to the ceiling by hanging on a hook (not supplied) the ceiling rose slides up to conceal the hook and wires and the little screw at the side holds it in place.The hanging chain length can be adjusted, according to preference.The drop measures 54cms/ 21¼" from the ceiling rose to the base (it is 36cms/ 14¼" long, without the chain.)The ceiling rose is 10cms/ 4" diameter.The maximum span across two opposite arms is 38cms/ 15" wide.It weighs a heavy 3.2kgs/ 7lbs!**Please note that vintage lighting can never be assumed to be safe.
