Description: This was my grandmother's and she came from Germany in 1889. She might have brought it with her on the boat? That was the story told to me. It sat in her kitchen FOREVER. She passed in 1955 and my mother inherited it and when she passed, it came to me in 2015. As the pictures show it has been used. It has a surface crack on the top and the salt in the bottom has eaten through the paint. I tried to capture all this in the pictures. It is very heavy and not knocked over by kids or animals. There is an original screw missing on the hinge. All this just enhances the beauty of it. None of my children want anything of mine so that is why I have to sell it.
