Description: This bowl is stunning and beautiful. It is quite large, approx 12.5” diameter, a centerpiece This is an antique porcelain Satsuma bowl from Japan, Meiji era. The bowl is shaped with six ruffles which appear as interlaced cabbage leaves on the exterior of the bowl which are decorated sprays of flowers. The interior of the bowl is smooth and features a golden outer band. The interior is decorated with hand painted chrysanthemums. The birds are gorgeous. They appear to be the same type of birds. There is a group of three in large, medium and small. There is another flock of 5. The bowl has been signed on the base of the bowl. The bowl measures approx 12.5” wide x 4” tall. The bottom rim dia is approx 6.75”. There may be wear to the gold ruffle edge paint. Otherwise, the bowl is in very, very excellent antique condition with no breaks, cracks, chips or repairs.
