His dated works span from around 1617 (Genna 3) to 1634 (Kan'ei 11).Munetsugu’s style follows the Soshu tradition and differs from the Hizen Tadayoshi school in terms of craftsmanship. According to some accounts, he was summoned by Toyotomi Hideyoshi when Hideyoshi deployed to Hizen Nagoya Castle. It is said that Munetsugu crafted and presented a Masamune replica at that time, earning high praise for creating a piece "indistinguishable from the original."
