Description: The fine item you are considering is an Antique Joh. Bapt. Schweitzer German Trade Violin 1814 With Bow & Case. This beautiful German trade violin is in excellent, very well cared for condition, measuring 23” long overall, with the body measuring 14” long. The only issue I can find is that the interior tone post is loose inside and will need to be reset. J. B. Schweitzer was an actual maker in Budapest in the early-to-mid 1800’s but his name was used in many thousands of trade instruments. The instruments were made in Markneukirchen, Germany and what is now the Czech Republic from 1870 into the early 1900’s. This particular instrument is obviously of superior quality, with some beautiful wood. Also included is the high quality case shown and a bow labeled “Maple Leaf”. Please see my photos to have a look at this nice item. Winning bidder/buyer pays $46.00 shipping and insurance in the contiguous U.S., plus $3.00 for packing materials (bubble wrap) with shipping to Alaska and Hawaii most likely costing more. If you are in Alaska or Hawaii, please contact me for a shipping estimate. Foreign bidders/buyers pay costs as per eBay's Global Shipping Program. Due to the large amount of items I now auction, I can unfortunately no longer allow in person pick up of items. My return policy is that returns are only accepted if I made a mistake in the listing, not disclosing a serious issue with the item, in other words, if the item is substantively different than as described in my listing. Thanks for looking, and happy bidding/buying!
