Description: This is an antique late 1800s - early 1900s compass in great pre-owned condition. The hardwood case has a rich age patina and appears to be constructed of Mahogany with brass hinges and two hook closures. There is some light surface use wear but no damage (cracked/missing wood pieces/moisture staining). It is fully functional and in great working order with a well balanced directional needle. A pin mechanism is depressed, as the lid shuts, holding the needle in a locked position. The cardinal direction/degree plate is intact and complete. Measures approximately 2 3/4" by 2 3/4" by 3/4". Please refer to photos for quality and condition.
