Description: This is a RCA model 40X-54 "Treasure Chest" 5-tube table top radio from 1939. It is not a reproduction and it is not in "museum" or "like new" condition. It is an 85-year-old radio that is fully functional and clearly receives AM stations across the band. It measures approximately 9.5" wide x 6" high x 6" deep. The rope handles appear to be original. The cabinet was probably "refinished" at some point years ago and has a somewhat "rough" appearance like an old treasure chest. The data sticker on the bottom of the radio is about 80-85 percent intact and has been covered with clear tape. Please review the detailed description and photos. I turned the radio on just before I listed it on eBay and verified that it is in working order. However, I can't offer a warranty on the radio. Please be mindful that this is an antique radio and don't consider purchasing it if you have any reservations. I have owned this radio (and several others) for more than twenty years and it has been carefully displayed in my home. I will "double box" the radio for shipment. I will ship it by the most economical means but I WILL NOT use the USPS. I only charge actual shipping costs (which are usually less than those posted by eBay) and I will promptly refund any excess shipping fees paid by the buyer.
