SKU 502-COINS-112724 ----- A little info for history buffs: Queen Anne Queen Anne came to the throne of England in 1702 and by 1707 due to the act of union between England & Scotland became the queen of Scotland too. During her reign Britain became a major land military power following the 2nd colonial war in North America between the English, Spanish and French. Her successor, George 1st was the first British monarch of the house of Hanover. George started like Anne as king of England and then proclaimed the right of succession as the Stuart's proclaimed rightful heir as proclaimed by the English parliament becoming king of Scotland too. George 1st was disliked and thought of as 'too German' and the court whispered through his reign that he was unintelligent and more concerned with Germany than he was with Britain. George 2nd was a more popular monarch and the last British monarch to lead troops in battle. During his reign British interests around the world expanded greatly. He also withstood an attempt by rebels to restore the Stuarts to ruling Scotland and settled the matter of succession to king of Britain permanently. George 3rd was of course the last king of the American colonies due to the revolutionary war of independence. He also suffered from mental illness later in life. Some claim this was due to having lost the American colonies others claim it was due to a rare disease. He will always be remembered as the king who lost the American colonies. The coins that are part of this bracelet represent the rise of Britain to superpower status, the colonial wars where Britain gained supremacy over the colonies and the end of British rule over the American colonies and American independence. An amazing amount of history over a relatively short time span. No discounts after sale. 14 day returns apply. Happy bidding.
