Description: This is a very nice antique sterling silver tea caddy (box or jar) by SHREVE CRUMP & LOW of Boston, Mass. There is a very fancy monogram on top of the domed lid which is really a work of art; the letters appear to be AM but this is a guess. This tea caddy weighs 144 grams or 5 standard ounces; it stands about 4 1/2" tall"; about 3" across at its widest point, and the diameter of the base is 1 1/4". (Please excuse the reflections on the photos; this was very difficult to photograph while trying to stay in natural light.) The style is sometimes referred to as "Queen Anne" with its three-quarter fluted body. This piece is in very good estate condition; the lid fits snugly in its original state. There are several (3-4) tiny dimples along the smooth portion of the body of the piece, and a small dent at the eleven o'clock position in relation to the maker's mark on the bottom of the base which fortunately doesn't show when the caddy is flat on a table. This handsome antique caddy displays very well. Shipping is via priority mail and includes full insurance. FREE scheduling, supersized images and templates. Get Vendio Sales Manager.
