Description: There is some play in the top board but the boards are attached. There are splits at the spine and loss to the bottom of the spine. Front endpapers missing – so the book starts at the title page. The binding, however, is solid and there are no other missing or loose pages. Page edges are pink all round. The book had a plastic cover and the remains of the tape used to attach it are on the front and rear inside boards – see photos 3 and 4. The text is in double columns. There are many illustrations within the text as well as whole page plates. In addition there are 4 foldout maps. All are present, undamaged and fully attached. Apart from some neat notes in pencil on the back of a plate (see photo 5) there are no other inscriptions or annotations. There are just a few examples of heavy foxing – see photo 6.
