Bill and Marcia Finks have been sculpting together since 1989. Their sculptures evolved from their love of graphics, metal, color and vintage tin toys. Their designs are dictated by the interesting shapes and lithography of the old toys. They search the globe looking for unusual pieces to incorporate into their sculptures.Their work has been featured in the New York Times, the Chicago Tribune, Newsweek, House and Garden, Elle Decor, Vogue Living, Country Home, Country Living, Martha Stewart Living, Redbook and Home Magazine. Works also appears on the hit TV show 'How I Met Your Mother' and numerous other show sets. Their art has also graced the holiday windows at Bergdorf Goodman, where they have been a mainstay since 2009. Since 1990 when Bill and Marcia Finks founded Primitive Twig, their whimsical metal designs have found their way to the walls of collectors all across North America. Their work has been featured on TV, in magazines and international publications. In 2007, their work and home were featured in Home Magazine. Their work can be found in Anthropologie and Bergdorf Goodman’s stores as well as Sundance and Uncommon Goods catalogs. The pieces are made from salvaged materials; from old tins, antique doll parts, and assorted vintage objet d'art. “When we tell people about how a piece includes a doll head made in Germany in 1895, they catch our enthusiasm,” says Finks.“When they buy our work, they’re buying a piece of history, as well as a signed work of art.” Their clients include art galleries, small gift shops, home furnishing stores, lighting shops and Bergdorf Goodman.
