About Daniel Pinkham:.Daniel Pinkham was born in Lynn, Massachusetts, on June 5, 1923. He studied organ and harmony at Phillips Academy in Andover; then to Harvard. He also studied harpsichord and organ. He studied composition with Arthur Honegger and Samuel Barber, then with Nadia Boulanger. Pinkham taught at Simmons College, Boston University, Dartington Hall (Devon, England), and was a visiting lecturer at Harvard University (1957-58). In 1950 he received a Fulbright Fellowship and in 1962 a Ford Foundation Fellowship as a choir conductor. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He is on the faculty of the New England Conservatory of Music. Pinkham was music director emeritus of the historic King's Chapel in Boston, where he served actively from 1958 to 2000. He also received six honorary degrees.
