Bid with confidence. According to several internet searches, this plate from the Deutsche Marinebund representing the submarine U-995 installed next to the German sailors' memorial in Laboe (Kiel). The Unterseeboot 995 or U-995 is a German submarine (U-Boot) used by the Kriegsmarine during World War II. The submarine was commissioned on October 14, 1941 in Hamburg, its keel laid on November 25, 1942, it was launched on July 22, 1943 and put into service on September 16, 1943, under the command of Oberleutnant zur See Walter Köhntopp. Decommissioned in May 1945, U-995 entered service with the Royal Norwegian Navy in December 1952. In 1972, she was converted into a museum ship.
