DIY - Sand Casting Flask - Alignment Pin

Description: These are 3D printed "alignment pins" or "locator tabs" for a wooden sand casting flask.See example application photos for typical use. DIY Kit includes 4 plastic pieces (#10 Wood screws optional). This will allow you to make/align a single (1 cope and 1 drag) set of flasks. These are my own design. I have used a few designs that were free to download, and had issues wit strength and trapped sand. So I started from scratch and designed my own. As far as strength goes, using 3 screws into the flask for each piece should hold more than you can lift by hand even in soft wood. Wood screw length is designed for maximum hold in 3/4" wood. WOOD NOT INCLUDED.Pre-drilling recommended. Personally I recommend against 2x4's for making flasks becasue they tend to be wet and prone to warp and twist. 3/4" poplar, maple, or oak should all be fine. If you are casting above aluminum temps, I am also selling a plastic pattern set (Just 1 of each, because its a pattern), so you can make as many pieces as you want from aluminum and not worry about melting them.
