Description: Presented is a great quality antique wooden tea caddy chest, dating to the mid to late 1800s, likely of English make. The chest is beautifully made from a rich medium brown wood, with two interior lidded compartments and a space for a bowl in the center. The feet are done in a charming bun form, and the handles on either end are ring form with mounts in the form of baskets of flowers. The caddy has a lock, but unfortunately we do not have the key for it. The chest is in good overall condition. Most of the foil to the interior of the compartments is gone. One of the handles of the interior lids is missing its little spiral-decorated knob, but the peg it would have threaded onto is still present and the lid can be lifted up by that quite easily. There are a couple of touchups to the veneer here and there on the exterior, and some surface wear in general. The underside has some splits to the wood, but overall the box is still quite sound. Please let the photos guide your judgment. The box measures about 12 by 6 1/2 by 7 inches, LxWxH. -jm Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
