Selling this vintage Fire King jadeite restaurant ware heavy salad plate 6.75". Great shape with no chips or cracks. Marked OVEN WARE FIRE KING on bottom. The Jadeite Fire King line of products was first produced in the United States by Anchor Hocking during the 1940's. Today, Fire King Jadeite is one of the most highly sought after pieces of American Tableware. This is a beautiful, heavy weight salad plate. Very good vintage condition. Very shiny. No nicks/chips/cracks. Keep in mind that it is frequent, even normal, to find some minor flaws that are there since the glassware was made, like line striations, variations in colors, pieces of ash, white marks, bubbles, etc. It does not affect its quality.Marked under the cups - Fire-King Oven Ware. Made in U.S.A. Measure: 6.75" diameter. Back when it was produced, Jadeite was not considered fine china. Jadeite “Restaurant Ware” (as it was called) was produced very cheaply and in mass quantities, and it was used in military bases, school cafeterias, and diners at the time because its durability was unmatched by clay or porcelain dishware.
