Foster & Bailey Art Nouveau Sterling Silver Repousse Hand Mirror, c. 1901

Description: Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a gorgeous antique Sterling Silver hand mirror with heavily chased repousse design made by Foster & Bailey, c. 1901. The mirror features beautifully chased florals and scrolls in high relief around the perimeter of the mirror's back and down the handle. Decorating the center of the mirror's back is a lovely Art Nouveau female with flowing hair surrounded with doves/birds in flight. Above the woman's head is a fancy 3-ltter monogram "E. L. C.". The handle has matching chased design on both sides. The silver frame is marked with the Foster & Bailey trademark stamp and "Sterling, Pat. 1901". The silver frame is in very good Estate condition although there are some minor dents and dings around the rounded side with the mirror and minor scratches on the mirror from normal wear. The silver front of the mirror and decorated handle are in great condition with no noted flaws. The beveled mirror fits tightly in the frame and is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks, although there are some minor surface scratches for normal use as mentioned above. Measures 9 3/8" long with the mirror measuring just under 4 1/2" in diameter. We welcome International buyers, however, please note that as sellers we have no control over random Customs inspections.
