In 1974, 20th Century Fox had the idea of having movie theaters show the five "Planet of the Apes" movies in a single program and produced a special ad campaign to promote this. Not surprisingly, this idea did not go over well with movie theaters, because they would be selling a single ticket, and having kids and adults sit in their theater all day long! The five movies that 20th Century included with this "5 Bill" were "PLANET OF THE APES" (1968), "BENEATH THE PLANET OF THE APES" (1970), "CONQUEST OF THE PLANET OF THE APES" (1971), "ESCAPE FROM THE PLANET OF THE APES" (1972) and "BATTLE FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES" (1973). Can you imagine sitting in a theater for 5 movies?? The rare and hard to find Press Brook that was designed for this celebration of Apes films is an original press book from 1974. It measures approx. 8.5 x 14 inches in size. It has 20 pages of cast and credit information, pictures, ad mats, campaign promotions and some publicity material. It also shows the posters and accessories that were used by the studio. Six of the pages were left intentionally blank. Below you can see scans of some of the pages of the PB. The press book is in Near Mint condition and there are no cuts. This is an original studio issued press book and it has been stored in a dry, smoke-free home. Certainly a great collector's item that any "PLANET OF THE APES" fan should have!! SHIPPING: The pressbook will be shipped via the US Postal Service's First Class mail.
