I became a fan of Gorilla Biscuits in 1991 after hearing their cover of the Buzzcocks’ “Sitting Round At Home” on a local radio show. I did (and still do) love the Buzzcocks, but I remember thinking that this was the band that this tune had been waiting for. GB didn’t really change the composition; they just made it their own. I promptly purchased “Start Today”, and to this very moment, the sound of a bellowing trumpet gives me chills and induces an immediate adrenaline rush. Gorilla Biscuits’ blend of speed, aggression, emotion, and subtle pop sense made them instantly likable and helped enlist a legion of passionate/loyal fans. Speaking of instantly likable, Chris Shary is one of the most talented, prolific, and generally positive artists we’ve collaborated with over the years. He’s a West Coast legend and he seems to be loved by just about everyone who’s lucky enough to work with him. When Walter from GB mentioned that they were interested in working with us on a limited edition tee, Chris was the (hands down) best match for a collaboration.
