Description: 1969 Hammond Talking Series TRIP TO THE MOON Poster & Record - Mint Condition! - Apollo 11 Moon Landing, NASA Vintage 1969 Trip to the Moon, Apollo 11, Hammond Talking Series - A must-have for any serious collector. Includes a 38" x 25" wall chart (poster) and a 14-minute unbreakable mini vinyl record (33 ⅓ rpm). Complete with original mailing envelope and cardboard protector. Re-discovered this rare and historically significant item among my family’s household possessions. When I received this as an 10 year old in 1971, I opened the envelope but it's quite possible that I never played the record and may have unfolded and opened up the poster just once. It was basically forgotten for 53 years. That means the items here are in Excellent to Near-Mint condition. C.S. Hammond & Co. was a renowned map making company operating out of NYC and Maplewood, NJ from 1900 until 1999, when the Hammond family sold the company to Langenscheidt Publishers Inc. Their heyday was the 1950s and 60s, when they were second only to Rand-McNally in the production of maps and atlases. Until the advent of digital mapping from Google Earth predecessor Keyhole in the mid-2000s, Hammond provided the mapping technology for CNN and Headline News. The record contains audio highlights from the actual Lunar Landing: Sound, Voice, and Music of the 1969 Apollo 11 Lunar Landing with this Hammond Talking Series: Trip to the Moon. The intact poster (there are NO tack holes) includes color pictures of the 23 Apollo astronauts, including Apollo 11’s Buzz Aldrin, Neil Armstrong and Michael Collins. The rest of the poster traces each stage of the mission from earth to the moon and back. There are a few slight tears at some of the folds, otherwise I would rate the poster as Mint condition.
