Description: Item Description: For sale today is one oven stabilized 10MHz timebase board for the HP Agilent 5316A and 5316B Frequency Counters. This is an upgrade from the standard discrete oscillator or TCXO in the counter. The first two pictures are of the board. The next picture is of the 5316B with the TCXO. It is socketed, just pull it out. The 4th picture is of the two standoffs (included) installed. The 5th picture if of the board installed and mounted. Mounting screws are included. The current boards have a used Piezo Technik OCXO or used CTI OCXO installed. I prefer the larger EURO style OCXOs vs the smaller 1" square ones. Board color may be either purple or green. No changes are required to the 5316B for the install other than removal of the TCXO and install of the new board.In the 5316A, either the TCXO or the discrete oscillator board will need to be removed. See the service manual for more information about installation. Condition: This module is a new OCXO board with a used OCXO installed for the Agilent 5316A and 5316B frequency counters. The board is plugged into a connector on the main board in the counter and mounted using the existing holes from the HP OCXO option. The OCXO is powered by the "always ON" 7.5V power source used to power the HP OCXO option. It draws about 350mA at turn ON and about 140mA when at temperature. The OCXO on the board stabilizes within 3 to 5 minutes after turn ON but should be on for at least one hour if calibrating. The frequency adjustment is a 25 turn pot connected to a precision reference chip and usually comes out around mid scale (usually about 2.3V to 2.6V) when adjusted for 10MHz. The pot is accessible through a hole on the rear panel of the counter. The OCXO board will ship adjusted against a GPS reference. There are test points on the board (not populated) for measuring the OCXO trim voltage and other signals/voltages if desired. You will need an accurate and stable 10MHz reference clock such as a Rubidium reference oscillator or GPS stabilized reference if you plan to calibrate the counter yourself. The counter will only be as good as the reference used for calibration.
