Deac was known as a very spiritual man that preached kind and loving thoughts like "don't hurt anybody including yourself." Joy, Deac's wife taught Hal a lot also. She was hard core Alanon. deac sponsored Hal and was a sponsee of Chuck C. Both Deac and Hal were part of the Pala Mesa retreat where Chuck C was inspired and included much of this retreat in the book. There is tape on the cover and I didn't have enough pixels to upload the inscription. It is on the inside front cover.
