What ensues will be a brawl of unprecedented scale and destruction. I know how to take Superman and the Justice League off the board forever --Lex Luthor. How do you destroy the Justice League? The question has been plaguing Lex Luthor and his Legion of Doom since the two titanic groups first came to blows. When confronted with the colossal entities of Skull Island, Lex believes he's found the answer to their eternal question. It's Superman vs. Godzilla, Wonder Woman vs. Behemoth, Green Lantern vs. Scylla, Batman vs. Camazotz, and Supergirl vs. Kong in this all-out battle for the fate of the DC Universe. Can Superman stand up to the power of Godzilla? Can Lex Luthor harness the primal forces of Skull Island? It's time to find out the answers to these questions and more in the cataclysmic crossover event of the year as the DC Universe clashes with Legendary's MonsterVerse. Story/Spoilers: In issue #1A, Clark and Lois are having a romantic dinner at the helipad of the Daily Planet and discussing about the first time they met. He is ready to propose to her but, suddenly, Godzilla arrives at Metropolis. Twelve hours ago, at the Hall of Justice, Hal and Barry were overseeing Superman's activities all over the world. Hal is impressed by how much work Superman can do in a single day, but Barry says that Superman can't do everything by himself and Barry knows that because there is just not enough time, even for someone as fast as himself. Supergirl tells them that Clark will propose to Lois and they will go on their very first vacation together and she will be filling in for him. One of the Watchtower's monitors depicts Superman about to fight Titano and the Flash thinks Superman could use some help, so he rushes out to meet him but when he arrives at the scene, he finds that Superman has already defeated his opponent. Accompanying Superman on his way to take Titano to Stryker's Island, Flash congratulates his friend for taking the big step with Lois and admits that he hasn't told his secret identity to Iris, but Superman says that Barry will soon take that big step with Iris, as well. The heroes arrive at Stryker's and are greeted by Green Lantern and Wonder Woman, who also congratulate Superman from his decision. Meanwhile, at their secret base, the Legion of Doom watches as Titano is taken to Stryker's and begin to discuss yet another plan to destroy the Justice League. Black Manta believes that, with their combined resources, intellect and power, they could easily destroy their enemies, but Cheetah says that some of the members of the Legion don't even like each other and the Justice League keeps beating them because they're such "super friends". Grodd says that they don't need to like each other, they just need a good opportunity and strategic superiority. Luckily for them, Lex already has a plan. Titano was simply a distraction. The Legion's real objective lies in the Arctic. They go to the Fortress of Solitude. It took Lex 3 years to discover the Fortress and its only measure of security is Kelex, a robot tasked with maintaining and operating the Fortress in Superman's absence. Manta quickly incapacitates the robot, allowing the Legion access to the Fortess. As the Legion ventures deep into the Fortress, Toyman is in awe of the toys and devices Superman has collected over the years, but Lex tells everyone not to get distracted, for they are here for two things: the Mother Box and Orion's sled. Lex wants to use them to trap the Justice League in the Phantom Zone. The objects within the Fortress are sealed within special cases wired with an ultrasonic alarm that presumably only Superman can hear. Unfortunately, in his obsession to grab a red gem stashed in one of the cases, Toyman has already triggered an alarm. Meanwhile, Clark gets a visit from Bruce at his apartment. Clark shows Bruce the ring he plans to propose to Lois with. He didn't make it. He only financed it. Clark asks Bruce why did he come here and Bruce asks whether bringing Lois into his life is a good idea. If Clark does marry Lois, he will be putting a target on her back. Clark reassures Bruce that he can protect her the same way he protects everyone and nothing in his life is gonna change. Suddenly, Clark hears the alarm from the Fortress and wants to go, but Bruce has already called the Justice League. Supergirl, alongside Flash, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman and Hawkgirl, answers the call and wishes his cousin good luck for tonight. A fight begins and Lex tells the Legion to keep the heroes distracted while he programs the Mother Box. Toyman attempts to distract the heroes with an explosive doll, but Hawkgirl defects it with her mace. The explosion hits the Mother Box, which opens up a portal that consumes the Legion, while Green Lantern protects his friends with a force field. The portal dumps the Legion into a secluded jungle, far away from the Fotress or any form of civilization. Cheetah is angry that Toyman's ineptitude got them into this mess, but Lex believes they should focus their energies on planning how to return home. Giganta increases her size and observes a large structure nearby, thinking they can use it to discover where they are. As the Legion walks through the jungle, they are attacked by a Skullcrawler, which is suddenly incapacitated by Kong, the sight of whom impresses Grodd, who calls him an "ape god". He tries to communicated with Kong, who offers no answer. The Legion enters the facility, discovering it to be some kind of command center. Lex and Manta survey some of the maps depicted in the base's monitors and discover that the Mother Box teleported them into a universe similar to their own, except for one difference. This Earth has a land mass designated as "Skull Island". The base also contains pictures and information about giant monsters, similar to Kong. These "Titans", as Toyman calls them, would be perfect weapons for the Legion to use against the Justice League, but the other members of the Legion, especially Lex, have no patience for Toyman's antics. Angry, Toyman says he wishes he could take his new "toys" back home so he can play with the Justice, and the red gem he is holding suddenly answers to his wish. A red light envelops the base. Back in Metropolis, Clark walks up to Lois' cubicle and asks her to meet her at the helipad, where he has already prepared a table with dinner for both of them. As the date progresses, Clark gets ready to propose to Lois, only to be interupted by Godzilla's arrival. In the present, Superman flies into action and confronts Godzilla. Next in issue #2A, Godzilla has arrived at the shores of Metropolis and Superman attempts to reason with him. Unfortunately, his pleas fall on deaf ears, and a fight begins. Godzilla hits him with his tail. The hit sends Superman into the premises of the Daily Planet, just in time for the Flash to arrive, ready to provide assistance. Superman gets back into the fight, while Flash helps civillians evacuate. The rest of the Justice League mobilizes to contain the threat, just as they receive messages that the Titans have been appearing in multiple parts of the world, such as Gotham City and Themyscira. Hawkgirl goes to Metropolis to help Superman; Flash, Green Lantern and Supergirl go to Central City; Wonder Woman, Green Arrow and Wonder Girl go to Themyscira, and Batman and his Family will defend Gotham. Cyborg and Black Canary also go to Gotham and help Batman. En route to Themyscira, Wonder Woman and Green Arrow spot a mysterious island. According to Green Arrow, there is not supposed to be an island on this part of the ocean and volunteers to investigate, saying that this isn't his first time on a deserted island. Wonder Woman agrees to Green Arrow's suggestion and departs to Themyscira. On the Legion of Doom's headquarters, Cheetah and Black Manta monitor the Titans' rampage across the world. Black Manta tells Cheetah that the stone used by Toyman was the legendary Dreamstone, a magical artifact that can grant wish and turn dreams into reality. Lex finds himself back in his office at Lexcorp, just when Metropolis has become a battleground. Deducing that Toyman is somehow behind his mess, Lex tells Mercy to meet him at their bunker. At the Daily Planet, Lois also watches the battle, worried for Superman's safety, until Jimmy grabs her hand and takes her to the exit. Superman and Hawkgirl have been trying to lure Godzilla away from Metropolis, but so far, they haven't had any luck. Over at Gotham, Batman and Batwoman use their Batplanes to engage Camazotz in a dogfight, while the rest of the Batman Family evacuate civilians. Unfortunately, conventional weapons are useless against Camazotz's tough hide, so Red Hood prepares to shoot it in one of its eyes, despite Batman's protests that Camazotz is still in a heavily populated area. Red Hood takes the shot and hits Camazotz's left eye. The monster turns its attention to Red Hood and blasts him with a sonic attack. Red Hood barely dodges the blast, but the debris is about to fall on helpless civilians until they are saved by Black Canary and Batgirl hits Red Hood for putting civilians in danger. Cyborg has formulated a plan of attack: since Camazotz uses sonic attacks, it must mean it's vulnerable to sonic attacks, as well, so they will attack it with a sonic blast of their own. The heroes use an engine from the Batplane and turn it into a sonic amplifier while Batman lures Camazotz into a secluded area. Batman rams his plane into Camazotz, disorienting it long enough for Black Canary to hit it with her Canary Cry. The plan works and Camazotz is incapacitated. The battle in Metropolis is not going in the heroes' favor. While Superman and Hawkgirl have kept Godzilla's attention from them, they have been unable to push him out of the city. Even when they get assistance from Shazam, Godzilla refuses to yield. Godzilla unleashes his atomic breath, but Superman counters with his heat vision, commencing a beam struggle. Both opponents are evenly matched, but Shazam has an idea. He flies to Godzilla's head and summons the living lightning. Godzilla is briefly disoriented but Shazam turns into Billy and falls off Godzilla's head, only to be catched by Superman. Unfortunately, before Billy can say the magic word, Godzilla attacks them with his atomic breath. Superman shields Billy from the blast but is left severely injured and falls to the streets below. Billy rushes to Superman's side while Godzilla continues his rampage. Next in issue #3A, Flash rushes from Metropolis to Iron Heights, only to find Scylla wrecking the facility. Iron Heights' prisoners attempt to escape and Flash attempts to contain the breakout, but Scylla has emitted a toxic fog that weakens the Scarlet Speedster and leaves him vulnerable to the superpowered criminals. Help arrives in the form of Supergirl, who dissipates the fog with her super-breath. Green Lantern is also ready to help, as well. Before she and Hal can fight Scylla together, Supergirl realizes she can't hear her cousin's heartbeat anymore and leaves Iron Heights, leaving Hal and Barry to face Scylla on their own. Captain Cold, having arrived at Iron Heights, uses the opportunity to trap Flash in solid ice and evacuate his sister, with help from Black Manta and Cheetah. In Metropolis, Godzilla has incapacitated Superman with a blast from his atomic breath. Atom Smasher tackles Godzilla and keeps him distracted while Billy and Hawkgirl attempt to help Superman. Billy summons the living lightning to transform back into Shazam, just in time for Supergirl to arrive at Metropolis. Godzilla has killled Atom Smasher, only to be meet by a double fist from Shazam and Supergirl. Shazam distracts Godzilla and lures him out of Metropolis while Supergirl tells Hawkgirl to take Superman to the Fortress of Solitude. Behemoth has made landfall in Themyscira and the Amazons struggle to protect their land. Wonder Woman tells Donna Troy that they will attempt to stop Behemoth without hurting him. Using a harpoon to increase their speed, the two Amazons reach Behemoth's head and attempt to tame him with their lassos, but Behemoth shakes them off and leaves of his own accord and Wonder Woman theorizes that something has grabbed Behemoth's attention. Supergirl returns to Iron Heights just in time to help Flash and Green Lantern beat Scylla. At the same time, Green Arrow informs his fellow Leaguers that he is exploring the monster island that appeared in the middle of the ocean. Supergirl meets up with Green Arrow just as Kong has defeated a Warbat. Intrigued by Supergirl, Kong attempts to touch her, but Supergirl, thinking Kong is about to attack her, defends herself. In Gotham, Batman and his Family has wrapped Camazotz in a special net and are keeping him sedated until they figure out how to contain him. Cyborg informs Batman that the monsters are departing from the other cities because they are responding to some kind of high-frequency beacon. Shazam arrives at Gotham and tells the gathered allies that Superman is dead. Shocked by the news, Cyborg believes they should tell Lois, but Batman denies Billy's claim and insists that they keep this turn of events a secret from her, at least until he sees Superman. Meanwhile, in the Chihuahuan desert, Lex has made a surprising discovery, a mysterious device emitting a red light. Next in issue #4A, As the world's superheroes continue fighting the Titans and providing aid to devastated locations all over the world, the Justice League has moved Superman to the Fortress of Solitude. Superman remains unresponsive after taking a blast from Godzilla's atomic breath and the Watchtower's medical systems do not detect his pulse. To honor his friend, Batman works hard to solve the crisis and has already deduced that the Legion of Doom had infiltrated the Watchtower and stolen the Dreamstone. To bring the Titans back to their world, the Justice League must find the Dreamstone. Cyborg, who has been tracking the Titans, tells the other superheroes that the Titans have been moving to different locations and Godzilla is heading to the Fortress. Believing that Godzilla is chasing after Superman, Batman suggests that they move Superman to another location. Meanwhile at Skull Island, Supergirl has been trying to reason with Kong. Unlike the other Titans, Kong is not overtly aggressive and hasn't attacked another location, like Godzilla. Believing that Kong is not a threat, Supergirl departs for the Fortress and leaves Green Arrow to observe Kong. Whatever time Green Arrow and Kong have alone is short-lived, however, as they are attacked by ninjas from the Legion of Assasins. While Kong smashes through the assassins, Green Arrow spots a ship docked nearby. The Justice League has moved Superman to the Watchtower, and Lois has arrived, as well. She has received news that Superman in critical condition and even found the engagement ring he was trying to propose with. She pleads him to get better so he can propose to her the way he was supposed to. The Leaguers prepare for their next mission, while Lois chooses to remain in the Watchtower and observe security footage from the Fortress. She discovers that Lex and the Legion of Doom had infiltrated the Fortress and stolen the Dreamstone. Meanwhile, the world's supervillains have gathered at the Legion of Doom's headquarters to discuss the current events. With the heroes fighting the Titans, the villains see this as an opportunity to grab power, but Black Manta advises patience, for Lex already has a plan on how to take advantage of the current disaster. Cheetah and Deathstroke have visited a location hit by Godzilla and found footage that shows Toyman present during the attack. Lex keeps himself busy with his latest work: Project Atlas. According to files he found about the Titans, the people from the other world the Legion visited had successfully built a mechanized Titan that almost killed Godzilla, the monster that fought Superman in Metropolis, so Lex hopes to recreate such a machine with Lexcorp's technology. Lex also doesn't believe Superman is dead nor does he believe that the Legion can easily control the Titans. Wonder Woman, Flash and Green Lantern have travelled to Atlantis, where they find Aquaman, Mera and their soldiers fighting against Scylla, who is so enraged that it doesn't respond to Aquaman's telepathic commands. Cyborg had already informed the Justice League that the Titans have been responding to some kind of signal, and the Leaguers supect that Lex or Toyman might be behind it. Suddenly, Godzilla engages Scylla, with the Leaguers and Atlantis caught in the middle. Since he can't risk the city's dome getting damage, Aquaman reluctantly unleashes Atlantis' secret weapon: the Kraken. Back in Skull Island, Green Arrow infiltrates the League of Assassins' ship and stumbles upon their cargo: the skull of a Skullcrawler. Next in issue #5A, At the Justice League Watchtower, Lois uses a JL computer to communicate with her secret source at LexCorp: Mercy. This isn't the first time Mercy has informed of Lois about Lex's actions and Lois insists that whatever happens, she can protect Mercy, who informs her that Toyman stole the Dreamstone from the Fortress of Solitude and used it to bring the monsters into the world. Mercy even asks about what happened to Superman and Lois says that he is not dead but he is in a very bad shape. His attacker, Godzilla, is an ancient animal that maintains the natural balance of his world. Since he was brought in this world, he's been following that primal instinct to maintain balance and trying to impose order in a completely different world. Mercy agrees to send everything she has found on the database of Monarch, the organization that has been investigating the Titans, to Lois, who goes to check on Superman. Supergirl, who is also present at the Watchtower, says that Superman isn't dead but he is dying and now, she wants to see the data, as well. Meanwhile, in the outskirts of Atlantis, Godzilla fights the Kraken and Scylla, while the Justice League helps Aquaman repair Atlantis' broken dome. Aquaman, Mera, Aqualad and Flash attempt to find the beacon that attracted the Titans to Atlantis, while Wonder Woman and Hal defend the dome from the Titans. Flash finds the beacon just as the Titans accidentally smash into the dome. While Scylla pursues Flash, Godzilla uses his atomic breath against the Kraken, while Aquaman and Wonder Woman chase after Godzilla. In the seas surrounding Skull Island, Green Arrow has infiltrated a ship occupied by the League of Assassins. The ninjas of the League overwhelm through superior numbers and Green Arrow is forced to jump off the ship and swim back into the island. Meanwhile, Cyborg has transferred Monarch's data to Batman and told him that Supergirl has flown back to Skull Island. According to Monarch's files, Kong is the closest thing the humans will have to a friendly Titan, something that Batman is hoping to capitalize on. Batman has requested help from the entire superhero community on a project that can help them even the odds. Batman and Cyborg have also been trying to communicate with Shazam, who still feels guilty for indirectly causing Superman's injuries. They tell him not to feel sorry for himself and instead focus his energies into something productive, like tracking the Legion's movements, but Shazam has already intercepted the Legion and is ready for a fight. Supergirl has indeed returned to Skull Island, only to find Grodd attempting to get Kong's assistance in the fight against the Justice League. Supergirl believes Grodd will be unable to control Kong's mind, only to for Grodd to reply that his target isn't Kong, but rather Supergirl herself. Using a piece of Kryptonite, Grodd brainwashes Supergirl and forces her to knock Kong out. At the Legion of Doom's headquarters, Black Manta and Giganta are informed by Deathstroke and Cheetah that they are continuing their search for Toyman, while Captain Cold informs them that a second beacon has been activated and is leading the Titans back to Metropolis. In that moment, Shazam breaks into the Legion's headquarters and tries to defeat as many as he can, only to be knocked out by Giganta, who doesn't care that Blockbuster was also caught in her attack. The battle for Atlantis continues. Hal has used his ring to construct a force field around Atlantis, but the water's pressure is too much for him to contain. Fortunately, the other Green Lanterns of Earth, John Stewart, Guy Gardner, Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz have arrived to provide assistance. Meanwhile, Aquaman has placed a large shackle on Godzilla's right leg. For now, Godzilla has been stopped. On a secret location, Lex has activated his newest weapon, Mechagodzilla, to defeat and control the Titans. According to Mercy, Mechagodzilla's schematics also included a beacon built into its system and perhaps they should deactivate it, but Lex wants the Titans to come to him so they learn who the true Alpha is. Deep in the mountains, the League of Assassins' have brought the corpse of a Titan to their master, Ra's al Ghul, who wants to resurrect it with a Lazarus Pit. Next in issue #6A, It's been 10 days since the Titans appeared in the Justice League's world. At the Watchtower, the Justice League assesses the situation: Superman is incapacitated, Supergirl is missing, Shazam has probably been captured and the heroes of Earth are no closer to finding Toyman and the Dreamstone than they were a week ago. Fortunately, the defense of Atlantis was successful, the beacon that attracted Godzilla and Tiamat to Atlantis was constructed with Lexcorp tech and Godzilla himself has been restrained with Nth metal chains that not even he has been able to break. Green Arrow reports that Kong and the League of Assassins have vanished from Skull Island, and Nightwing believes the Assassins will strike whenever Lex enacts his endgame. Batman tells the gathered heroes to make their stand at Centennial Park, the place where the Titans will gather. The Justice League departs from the Watchtower, ready for their next mission. Batman is the last to go and the Dark Knight gives one last look to Lois, who has fallen asleep while still watching over the incapacitated Superman. When Lois awakens, however, Superman has disappeared. Meanwhile, the Legion of Doom is also preparing to attack the Justice League. Some members of the Legion, like Black Manta and Giganta, have second thoughts about using giant monsters they can't control as weapons, but Lex dismisses their concerns. With Godzilla missing and Mechagodzilla at his disposal, he will be the new Alpha of the Titans. The Titans gather around Lex's latest creation, only to be confronted by Batman's own weapon, a giant robot created with assistance from the Justice League. The Green Lanterns of Earth use their rings to construct a giant robot of their own. The battle begins. While the robots confront each other, the Justice League and the Green Lanterns fight the Titans. Red Hood and Robin pilot a modified Batwing to provide assistance from the air, while Nightwing leads a squadron against the Legion of Doom. Supergirl and Kong, both controlled by Grodd, enter the battle and Wonder Woman is forced to fight Supergirl, while Kong attacks the Green Lanterns' robot. During the battle, Guy is separated from his fellow Lantern and Grodd smashes his head into the ground, leaving Aquaman to reorganize the defense against the Legion. Green Arrow, Red Hood and Robin work together to incapacitate Grodd, releasing Supergirl and Kong from his control. For a moment, it would seem the tide would turn on the heroes' favor, but the League of Assasins' arrive with their latest weapon: a resurrected Skull Devil now even larger than before as Skullspawn. Meanwhile, in the depths of the sea, Godzilla gets an unexpected visitor. It's Superman and he says that he and Godzilla have unfinished business. Finally in issue #7C, Ten minutes ago, at the Watchtower, Lois was trying to get a hold of any Justice League member and tell them Superman had gone missing. Suddenly, a golden light flew from the Sun and entered the Watchtower. It was Superman, bathed in the healing light of the Sun. Happily reunited with his girlfriend, Superman explains that Batman and Cyborg used the Watchtower's teleporter to bring Superman's comatose body to the Sun and accelerate his recovery. The plan worked and Superman was now ready to get back into the fight, but not before Lois told him that yes, she accepted his proposal. Meanwhile, as the battle between the Justice League, the Legion of Doom and their respective allies raged on, the villains from the Legion of Doom continued their search for the missing Toyman, only to find his lifeless body surrounded a footprint left by Godzilla. The Justice League focused their efforts in fighting the smaller Titans and give Kong enough space to fight a large Skullcrawler. Hal recovered Guy's body, while Jessica healed the unconscious Beast Boy, who transformed into a giant ape again to help Kong. Wonder Woman and Supergirl defeated a small Skullcrawler, while Batman's robot came under attack by Mechagodzilla. Five minutes later, Superman flew to the Legion of Doom's headquarters and saved Billy, who was overjoyed to see Superman again. Superman told Shazam to join their friends in Metropolis, and the World's Mightiest Mortal arrived just in time to distract Mechagodzilla and help Batman's robot get back on its feet. The Green Lanterns recreated their robot construct to fight the Skullcrawlers, as well. In the present, Superman has travelled to the depths of the ocean to confront Godzilla again. The Man of Steel is aware that in his own world, Godzilla helps maintain its natural order and a world full of superhumans is not what the King of the Monsters was asking, which is why Superman releases Godzilla from his Nth metal shackles and offers to bring him and his kind home. Godzilla attempts to blast Superman with his atomic breath, but Superman didn't come here for a rematch. He just needs Godzilla to follow him to Metropolis. The battle in Metropolis continues and Kong is soon overwhelmed by a Skullcrawler, until Guy's ring flies into his ring and, for the time being, Kong becomes a Green Lantern. He generates a construct of his axe and quickly kills the Skullcrawler. Wonder Woman, Shazam, Donna Troy, Supergirl and Batman work together to destroy Mechagodzilla, but the last remaining Skullcrawler destroys Batman's robot. Luckily, the tide of battle turns when Superman and Godzilla arrive to distract the Skullcrawler, giving Kong enough time to kill it. With most of their members and Titans captured, the Legion of Doom has been defeated and Superman has already recovered the Dreamstone, which was stuck underneath one of Godzilla's feet this entire time. Superman uses the Dreamstone to return the Titans to their home and confront Lex before he is taken to prison. This whole mess might have been caused by Toyman, but Lex enabled his behavior in the first place, and that's why Superman wants Lex to stay out of his Fortress. A few days later, Clark and Lois go on another their date at the park. Clark is sorry that they didn't go on vacation together, but Lois says they will have plenty of time together after their wedding.
