Anamorphic lenses were originally designed so that wide format imagery would fully utilize the film area of standard 35 mm frames. Otherwise wide format imagery would have left the top and bottom of the frame unused, and required cropping these out using masks in the projector. This Lens serial number is 1181044. Focus scale marked is from 8 ft to infinity. The lens has issues, the front and back surfaces of the glass have cleaning marks all over, an internal element at the back has faint haze, see image above. The focus turning has a slight scraping sound otherwise smooth. Dimensions 3.25 inch height; 2.75 inch front outer dia; 54mm of back thread dia. Cosmetically the lens shows signs of use and is without any dents or dings.
