Description: ITEM DESCRIPTION: Lot 2 Antique C1910 Papier Mache / Cardboard Doll Torsos for Large Bisque Head Dolls - 11 1/4" and 12" LongAntique lot of two 1910 era cardboard/papier mache doll torsos for antique German or American bisque head baby or toddler dolls. Most likely these were made in Germany. Made with concave neck holes so the bisque head can sit in it. These are for large dolls - 21 to 23 inches long.First six pictures are of the better condition torso. Next eight pictures are of the torso in poor condition. Measurements are: Torso on the left in pictures (smaller, darker color): Length: 11 1/4", neck opening: 1 1/4", arm openings: 13/8", leg openings: 1 3/4". Torso on the right in pictures (larger, lighter color): Length: 12", neck opening: 2 5/16", arm opening depressions: 2 1/8", leg opening depressions: 3 1/8". CONDITION:The larger torso (on the right in pics - lighter color and shiny surface) is in quite good condition. Paint looks original has expected wear to neck, arm and leg holes but all are sturdy and usable. The neck concave unit has a tight crack that could use some reinforcing for safety - seams are not cracked.The smaller torso (on the left in pics - darker color and matte surface) is in poor condition and needs restoration work. Unknown if paint is original. It has wear to neck, arm and leg holes as well as several cracks, tears in the cardboard, paint wear and seam cracks.
