Description: Meriden Forbes Silver Company Antique Silver Plate 1895 Etched Flat Bottom Teapot The very lovely Victorian silver plate, flat-bottomed teapot is in very good to excellent condition, with no dents or identifiable scratches. The satin-surfaced teapot by the Forbes Silver Company was made by the the era's very successful Meriden Britannia Company in Meriden, Conn., who produced hollowware under the "Forbes" mark for just a short time, between 1894 and 1898. Meriden merged with International Silver in 1898, using a "Forbes" mark through 1935. This teapot's potbelly surface is etched, and rises to two rows of beading on its neck. Its spout is embellished at its base and top of the spout. Its interior bottom is stained. It measures 8" high to its lid's finial, 9" from spout to handle, and has a 4" diameter top opening.
